
Dr. Alan Slack D.V.M., CVCP
Dr. Slack Graduated from Michigan State University and has been in Maine for the last 25 years. Formerly, he practiced as a surgeon for a multi-veterinarian practice in metropolitan New York and was director of one of the first exclusive emergency veterinary clinics to be established in the United States. Dr. Slack works with many other rescue agencies as well as the local shelters to try and make animals more place-able. He has special interests in surgery, avian medicine and reptile medicine. He is a Member of the Maine Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Association of Amphibian and Reptile Veterinarians. He is also a Certified Veterinary Chiropractitioner.
Dr. Slack has received formal training in the PennHIP Method of canine hip evaluation and has been a certified PennHIP member since 1999.
Dr. Slack has owned NEAH for 25 years and has been in practice for 40 years. |

Rose Manager/Lead Technician, Certified Surgical Technologist, Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
Certified Master Instructor in Reiki, Certified Master Instructor in Integrated Energy Therapies (IET), as well as a Medical Intuitive and Certified Quantum Touch Practitioner
Rose is our manager and has been working at New England Animal Hospital since 1996 as a Veterinary Technician. She has several certifications that include: Sterile processing and distribution Technician, Surgical Technologist (for the human and animal field). Rose says, “I love scrubbing in and assisting Dr. Slack in emergencies and challenging surgeries; as well as overseeing the surgical suite. I also love meeting our clients whether they are new or have been here for years. She has two cats a Siamese, rescued blind Persian, and a mini dachshund. |

Angela Lead Technician
Level I Reiki Certified
Angela is one of our veterinary technician and has been working at New England Animal Hospital for 7 ½ years. She is a Certified Nurses Aid and residential Medication Aid. She is always expanding her knowledge in the veterinary field by taking continuing education classes. Angela loves working with her fellow staff members but the favorite part of her job is assisting in surgery and running blood work in our lab. She has 7 animals, 4 cats, a beagle and 2 young pitbulls. |

Jessica C. Receptionist
Level I Integrated Energy Therapy
Jessica has been with New England Animal Hospital for almost 5 years, working as a receptionist and a technicians assistant. Right now she is going to school for Medical Assisting in the human field. She also enjoys the continuing education classes for the Veterinary field. The favorite part of her job is developing relationships with clients and their animals. She says, “I love watching all the puppies and kittens grow up!” All of Jessica pets are rescues, she has three cats: Booger, Toasti and Pyro and two dogs, Bug and Maulee. |

Bridget Lead Receptionist

Bridget has been working for New England Animal Hospital for 2 years, as a receptionist. She also joins the staff at continuing educations so she can use that knowledge every day. She loves building relationships with the public and their animals; she says “everyday is something new.” Bridget has 3 cats, Speedy, Jaws, and Benelli, as well as two dogs, Ripley and Morgan. |

Lauren Licensed Technician
Level I Reiki Certified
Lauren is our newest employee at New England Animal Hospital, having started 6 months ago. She is currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technician program at the University of Bangor. Additional medical experience was obtained during her 22 years working in the community mental health system. Lauren says the best part of her job is being able to relate and apply what she is learning at school to work and feels very fortunate to work in a practice that sees such a variety of animals. Lauren has 4 cats and an African Gray Parrot. |

Jessica B Receptionist

Jessica is our newest staff member at NEAH. She is a recent graduate of Unity Collage and earned her Bachelor's Degree of Science in Wildlife. Her background experience has been working with animal shelters, non-profit rescues and in wildlife rehabilitation. Her favorite part of the job is meeting and getting to know the patients, especially the exotics. In her spare time, Jess enjoys fishing, kayaking, and hiking. She has two cats, Jade, and Gimpy, her rabbit Sarah, and three gold fish. |
